Team Building
Team Building is at the heart of organisational development and performance. Whilst people could choose to collaborate and work as a team more often than not they choose to compete. The reasons are based less on personal impact and more on personal choice. Many observations and studies support the reality that almost every organisation can benefit significantly from more collaboration and better communication - companies and organisations that communicate effectively, are 4.5 times more likely to retain the best employees.
Following research into client specific needs, we use a wide variety of activities to enhance social relations and define roles within teams. This often involves collaborative tasks or activities which can expose and address interpersonal problems within the group. Our activities also build effective working relationships, find solutions to team problems, align goals and reduce role ambiguity.
Tips to encourage team building include:
Providing joint training
Looking for opportunities to form relationships
Using career incentives
Avoiding overlapping responsibilities and direct competition
Being a role model, showing mature, collaborative behaviour and expecting it of others
We use team building activities that enable people to feel a stronger sense of ownership and have an active role in making things improve. These are both naturally rewarding and can help drive collaboration and optimisation. People want to feel successful and work with others in getting things done. They want to get to the top and feel good about their accomplishments.
