The latest episode in our Resilience Unravelled series has now been released, Resilience Unravelled – Successful sales need resilience
In this episode, Dr. Russell Thackeray talks to John Golden who is currently Chief Strategy Officer and Marketing Officer with Pipeliner CRM, a software system that focuses on the sales process. John is also Executive Editor of SalesPop.net, a digital multimedia magazine and is currently based in San Diego, having moved from Dublin to Silicon Valley in the mid to late 1990’s, the .com era when huge changes were being made to business ideas and concepts.
In this podcast Russell and John talk about the role resilience plays in sales and business, and the differences in setting up and running a company with a large ‘cash pot’ and one that is growing from revenue. They also talk about the creativity and accountability required for start-ups, the need to focus on a situation so you can learn and move on quickly from failure and some of the complications and difficulties in leadership today.
They share their thoughts on the workplace and the need to accommodate different needs and styles of working, particularly the benefits of shared workspaces and virtual working which John feels aids collaboration and builds more focused and purposeful relationships. Finally, they consider the pressures of working in sales and the resilience required to be successful, the sense of purpose and self awareness needed and the importance of choice and control in reacting to situations and enabling change.
