The latest episode in our Resilience Unravelled series has now been released, Resilience Unravelled Eps 084 Strategies for handling stress and change.
In this episode, Dr. Russell Thackeray talks to Sue Firth, a business psychologist, about her work supporting senior executives and managers by providing strategies for stress management that help maintain their effectiveness in the workplace. Sue also works within businesses to develop toolkits that support junior staff to enable them to handle change or their own stress. She is also called on regularly to contribute to various newspapers and magazines on relationship issues.
In this podcast, Sue talks about the stress related business problems she works with, the initial symptoms that indicate something is wrong, the ‘lightbulbs’ that help managers realise the problems their staff may have and the behaviours they need to look for. She also talks about the causes of negative stress and how to deal with it as well as highlighting the stress related symptoms we all need to be aware of.
Recognising the signs of stress and intervening as early as possible is essential. We all have problems and go through difficulties in life, but it’s how you deal with these events that enables you to come back and thrive.
