Crystal Goh is a practitioner and neuroscientist working in a health and technology sector in California. As a survivor of child abuse, she started practicing yoga and meditation to escape suffering. She has explored many different types of practices over the years, most recently studying mindfulness with Jack Kornfield.
We tend to get distracted in everyday life. Gadgets and devices affect our attention span and mental energy. Mindfulness and nature are free gifts and tools… perhaps we have just forgotten how to use them.
Crystal is working with China where 200 million people need access to mental health help. There is a lack of trained professionals to help people and there is huge stigma around getting help. So they are trying to develop solutions for these people and make these big shifts in social change.
Building resilience, through mindfulness is learnable – enabling us to move forward and deal with life, renew and regenerate. It’s never too late to start and no one can ever take it away from you.
