Perfectionism and control
Katherine Schafler is a Psychotherapist based in New York City. With 14 years of counselling experience in an extremely broad range of capacities, she specifically works with highly ambitious, perfectionistic NYC women who present very well, seem completely put together but are privately hurting. She also works with women who are already balanced but want to keep it that way through regular and honest reflection.
Katherine has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from UC Berkeley and two Masters from Columbia University, one focused on clinical assessment and the other on psychological counselling. Additionally, she completed post-graduate training and certification at the Association for Spirituality and Psychotherapy in NYC. Katherine believes therapy works best when it's a collaborative process, thriving on the mutual trust and respect between therapist and client and, in addition to her private practice work, she has been an emotional health expert in a series of popular publications, including TIME, Forbes, ELLE, Glamour, Good Housekeeping, Fast Company, Huffington Post and MSN.
In this podcast Katherine talks about perfectionism, control self-compassion and resilience.
