Eat yourself happy. Gut health, mental wellbeing and resilience
Kara Landau is a NYC based Australian prebiotic gut health expert dietitian, author, innovator and presenter, on the power food has to impact wellbeing and mood.
Kara moved from Melbourne, Australia to New York City in 2012 and it was at this time that she uncovered the vital role gut health, and in particular, prebiotics, play in mood regulation. Shortly after this she published her first book on the topic 'The Clean Separation' which aimed to help young adults feel empowered to use the power of nutrition to feel mentally their best. In the following years Kara was regularly called on for gut health and prebiotic focused expert dietary recommendations around the connection with mental wellbeing, and how psychobiotics can be utilised to reduce stress, reduce inflammation in the body, and be the best version of yourself possible.
In 2018 she launched Uplift Food, the first dietician created functional food brand focused exclusively on the mood supportive benefits of gut healthy probiotics.
In this podcast, Kara explains the role food plays in supporting mental wellbeing and mood and how the gut and brain are connected through signalling pathways.
