The latest episode in our Resilience Unravelled series has now been released, Resilience Unravelled Eps 083 – Dealing with transitions in business and life.
In this episode, Dr. Russell Thackeray talks to Melissa DaSilva, a clinical social worker and founder of group practice East Coast Mental Wellness in Providence, Rhode Island. Melissa started her career in the social work field and she worked in agencies and schools for many years before setting up her own practice. She specialises in working with the LGBTQ community, supporting individuals at all levels of gender transition as well as helping her clients with their anxiety, depression and self-esteem problems. She is also the creator and host of two podcasts, Pride Connections and Chit Chat with a Therapist.
In this podcast, Melissa talks about how her life changed when she set up her own practice and moved from being a full-time therapist with very little business experience to heading up her thriving practice with a team of eighteen. She also talks about her work with the trans community and how her bi-polar diagnosis or ‘super power’, gives her a highly creative approach to problem solving!
