After graduating in civil engineering, Carl Benfield joined the Army as an engineering officer. After sixteen years service, he left and moved into the renewable energy sector, setting up his own company in 2009. Carl is now based in the Midlands and runs his own consultancy where he uses his experience of the military and private sectors in his work with SMEs. In this podcast Carl talks about servant leadership - sharing power, putting the needs of the team first and helping the whole team develop and perform to their best, the importance of self-awareness and resilience as well as his Army career.
