Clarke Boozer - The power of mindset. Dealing with Polymyositis.

Clarke Boozer has been living with a rare muscle disease for over twenty years. After being diagnosed with Polymyositis in 2002 his life changed completely. He lost his ability to work, walk and feed himself, was in a wheelchair and told he might not reach his next birthday. Initially devastated, Clarke found that this physical setback was actually a blessing and an opportunity to share his experiences with others who are dealing with adversity.

19 years later Clarke still has good days and bad days and when he wakes up each day, he doesn't know which it’ll be. However, he can now walk and has been able to go snowboarding, played tennis and completed the 100 mile Portland Century bicycle ride. In this podcast:

  • Clarke talks about how he used positive energy to overcome the illness

  • What his initial reaction was when he received his diagnosis?

  • What inspired him to to get where he is today.
